Does anyone know if a explorer tranny would work on a 94 gt. I tore mine out and can't find a used one in my area. A guy at my work said it would bolt right up, but I haven't ever heard or seen that before. He only want's 50 bucks for it so would be great for the price. If it can go in would the gearing be way off??

The '94-'95 Explorer 4R70W tranny should bolt straight up behind your engine. It would be a good swap 'cause it has the desirable wider ratios, stronger gear sets, and a stronger output shaft. The only question is whether your driveshaft is the right length and compatible with the output shaft of the tranny. I'm sure it could be made to work.
I have a 4R70W in my Stang but the tranny shop couldn't tell me exactly which model it came from other than it was another '95 Ford. It could have been from an Explorer or it could be an AODE rebuilt with 4R70W internals.
