I am looking into extended warranties for my '01... can anyone recommend any reputable sites or companies to go with? With my car being over 36,000 miles I'm unable to go through Ford as an option. I found a company called 1Source (?) online, but I am hesitant to buy something this way, the coverage looks good but I'm worried about some of the terms/conditions. Has anyone had experience with this?

Check with your insurance carrier you already have and they might be able to offer you discounts. Also, check with AAA and they might also be able to get you roadside protection as well as a warranty.

I considered that...I honestly won't be doing a whole lot with this car, its my first Mustang and I'm already wanting a v-8 7 months later. Chances are I'll keep this for another 2 years max and hopefully have the money for a Shelby :D , or at least a GT.

It just worries me because I've already had a $1500 transmission job that by the grace of God my dealer was able to fix for $100 as an "after-warranty adjustment". But now that I used my freebie if something else happens I'm screwed!!

Keep your sixer as a DD, save for your dream Stang in '07:

Warranties are :notnice: They prevent you from modding your stang.

I've done everything to my Explorer and still had warranty work done on it. Why? Cause extended warranties can go through any shop, not just the dealership, and well -- I took mine to my work and had ball joints and all types of things replace under warranty. Easy.
