Ok so far so good on the install I uncoiled everything and placed them where they need to go.
:hail2: The kit is very nice the instructions are good help.
I finished the Front and the back within a few hours now I am left with the inside..

I am stuck on the Steering colum.
I dont know which wires go where and I dont want to pull the stock wires out, only because it would take a long time to wire everything,
I want to just soilder the new to the old.

:bang: Anyone know which wires do what on the old harness???:bang:

Hey there, I was wondering how did you mount the fuse box? as for the steering column I have a 66 but i used the old connectors for the most part.
(There are numbers stamped onto the old connector)
the #1 place with the white and blue wires connects to Right front signal and Signal indicator
#2 was originally yellow connects to Horn switch

#3 originally green and blue connects to left signal indicator and left front signal

#4 originally green connects to third brake and brake switch

#5 originally blue and yellow connects to the wire going out to the horns in front (ez wiring's dark green wire)

#6 (i forget which color) connects to turn signal flasher

Edit: The horns originally went to a relay for mine but it didn't make sense to me so i cut off the relay and did what i could with it.

Also, did you use the old master disconnects? (the connectors that go into teh firewall)

ok thanks So far so good

I mounted mine upside down beacuse I couldnt get far up into the firewall, My wires go right above my Steering Colum. I mounted mine right above the old one it seems like a good spot.

I didnt use any of the old connections only the ones for the colum, this is beacuse most of my wireing was old and messy I am just wireing everything stright up no disconnecting spots.

But the problem is that I have a blue-yellow wire and a red and a purple wire that comes out from the colum too, So far I figerd out that the blue-yellow is the return for the horn but I dont have a Horn power comming from the set all i have is a "Horn Switch" did you have a "Horn Power" at all?

Also Dose your set have 2 Dimmer Powers?
My set has 2 Dimmer Powers and I only need one?

I mean did u use the old screws or is it just hanging there? cause i dunno where to put the screws.

Umm i believe that the orange-blue wire and the green-orange wire go to teh back taillights the orange-blue connects tot eh right rear turn, and the green-orange connects to left rear turn

The wire i refer to as horn power is called "horn switch" on the harness, i call it that because i believe that, that is the wire that has power coming from the harness, and the darker green "horn" goes to the front where the horns really are. Sorry about that confusion.

As for the dimmer power there are supposed to be two. One that connects to your light switch and the other that connects to dimmer switch on the floor.

Edit: This might help as well http://midlife66.com/wiring/wiring.html

Hmm so how many wires do you have coming out of the column?mine has 8, the six i named in the earlier post and the two in this post.

lol you have the color kit see thats were I made my mistake.
lol the instructions tell me all color stuff and I am like WTF?
I bought the black kit and it only tells me what there for, not there color.

No i didnt use the old screws the new kit is alot bigger then the stock one. the bolts were too small I had to drill new holes for it.

I also have the normal sized one, not the mini version.

To clearafi my horn qestion, I have only one wire under the dash that say's "Horn Switch" on it I couldnt find anything else. the stock harness thats on the colum has 2 wires that come out for the horn, a Blue-yellow and a Yellow wire.
What gose where?

ooo!! yah the color harness is a lot easier imo. and i got the mini version, only thing i regret is buying the 20 fuse... its way too many i have a lot of unused wires. Well trace the horn switch back to the fuse box it should connect to a relay, what I did was cut off the relay, the wire named "horn Switch" i connected to the yellow wire on the old column. The other one named Horn (this one originally goes into teh relay) i connected to the blue-yellow wire on the older wiring. Again this is the only logical way I figured it out to be, I couldn't get a hold of the techinical support today to confirm with them.

Yea I just saw the horn relay switch that your talking about I dont know what to do about it, I guess I will call them tomarro about it, or maybe someone on here can help us out with it.

Hey did you cut the wires that go to the key switch??
what do I do wtih that one?
Can you tell me what you did
also I have 2 other wires that come out from the colum Ones Red and the other is purple do you have anyclue what there for?

Yah, let me know how the horn thing works out cause by the time i wake up I look at the clock and they're closed they close 3pm eastern time and i'm a lazy teenager who wakes up at 1-2 pm western :D

By key switch i'm assuming you mean ignition, Not sure what you're asking,
What I did was cut the yellow, and two red wires that are coming out and added bullet style male connectors to the ends of it.
Then the wire labeled "Ign sw Power" connects to the yellow one.
The "Ign sw Start" connects to the second wire or the middle wire.
The "ign sw coil and ign sw ign" both connect to teh last wire.
and the "ign sw acc" connect to teh bolt in coming out of the ignition switch.

Of course before it had two connectors with the harness originally you cut the wires out of those two connectors, and after you connect all of them above you'll have an extra wire its black and comes from ign switch power, just put electrical tape over that or some kind of insulator. and if all the other wires have been connected i gues the one that looks purple is supposed to connect to the left rear turn.

Edit: As for the other two wires, I don't see a purple wire in the diagram but i do see a orange-blue, (which looks red in my car) and it connects to right rear turn

ok well I am going to leave the colum alone untill tomarro morning. lol

I finished the dash and the radio today, tomarro will be to install the new 16gauge speaker wires and the new speakers

After I get this thing workin perfect I am going to start on the Alarm system thats been sittin in my room since I bought the car LoL.

haha k, oh if you install the alarm correctly i have a few questions, mine came with my car , its a no name, so i cant pull up any diagrams, and the PO did a really crappy job wiring it so when i was trying to diagram it for myself... i couldn't! e.g. a wire that started off blue ended up green... no idea why he just did, it switched colors about 3 times.

I called tech support and they said that you simply connect the horn switch to either one of the horn things on hte steering column because it acts as a ground. I'm not sure exactly what that means but thats what they said. I'll try it my way and see if it works out.

i tryed callin them today but I got busy, and just forgot about it.

but I was thinking about what you said and it might be true I am going to connect the blue-yellow wire to the ground and the other to the "Horn Switch" it might work that way?

Thats wat he said, i have no idea, it doesn't make sense to me. but w.e.

In my other thread I was searching for connectors... omg! i spent about 3 hrs going to 4 different shops looking for connectors... i bought about 20 $ worth of connectors... come home... 90% of em don't work... i'm so mad
