Does anyone have any opinions on F-1 goodyear tires? I work with a guy who has a set of them and they are 245/45/17 what do they go for new? Do they hold up well? Are they much better than the eagles?

They sound pretty good to me and when I need new tires for my car that's what I will probably get...

We almost bought them (the F1 GS-D3) for my wife's 01 with 9" Cobra R rims, but since nobody in town had 4, we opted for Bridgestone Potenza RE-750 and saved a couple bucks in the process. The more I looked at the tread design of the F1, the more I was turned off by it. It's really cool and all, but for me, the design is a bit too radical. I saw a picture of them on a Mustang and they just didn't look right. They look like they belong on a F1 race car, hense the name, but kinda funny looking on a GT. Just my 2 cents....
www.tirerack.com has them for only $187 each for the 275/45-17 size, which, I am almost certain, is cheaper than I found them a few months ago when we were shopping (but, again, we were shopping for a 9" rim). There are several variations of the F1, from $187 - $288 (believe it or not, the GS-D3 is the cheapest of the F1s). Check em out at www.tirerack.com

I also have the Bridgestone RE-750 on Cobra R rims on my 98 GT and they are great. They even have sidewalls that are designed to protect the rims. Unfortunately, I let my wife drive it and she screwed them up in the first 5 seconds...

I heard that the F1 tires pick up a lot of little rocks and gravel and can sling them and damage the panels behind the tires. i guess the tread works too well

you're all crazy....these tires RULE

EDIT: They wont do crap to your back fender if you're on the stock 245s. They dont stick out far enough. I have 315s and i dont see and scratches

Nice pic, nice tires. As I said, a radical tread design...just a bit too radical for my taste. But they do look like they came right off an F1 car, which is not a bad thing at all. Awesome, just not for me, but opinion is always subject to change.

Thats a good thing....that just means they are reeeely sticky. I had them on my 96gt and i loved them, but i burned them up too fast and i cant afford to replace them every 4 months so i bought a set of Pirelli zero Nero's...they are almost as good in dry and better in wet weather...plus they last longger and are a lot cheaper. But id recommend tham, just dont go crazy with the burnouts

They are good tires and I would HIGHLY recommend them for a daily driver or occassional track use...

I drove a ZR1 Vette that was running these and I couldn't believe the grip

I have those tires. I was recently at a performance racing school where we were aloud to take our car around the track and the tires performed amazingly well. I highly recommend them.

I've had these on for about 2 months and I love them. Thousands of times better than the stock POS's. Excellent in wet, even better in dry. I highly recommend them, although they are pricey.

My $.02

thats a pretty cool picture. whose exhaust tips are those?

the eagle F1s are too weird looking for me, performance or not. I'll stick with my BFG drag radials and nittos.

do they handle well in water? from the looks of them, I'd guess so. and how about with a lot of low end torque, do they hook well at WOT?

I love mine, wet traction they are the best Goodyear makes and dry traction is second only to the F1 Foiranos..the stock Ferrari tires
