I need suggestions on what thickness of material I should use to fabricate brake caliper brackets. I found two working sets of Kelsey Hayes 66 Thunderbird calipers and 12.15” rotors at the junkyard the other day, but between the costs of the calipers, rotors, turning, and wheels I just bought I am a poooooor man
, so I can’t afford Cobra Automotives brackets!!!! I can get hold of a few pieces of 3/8” plate steel. Would that be thick enough to be safe? Could I go thinner, say 1/4” ?
