I've gone through THREE of them. Last two were from wrecked cars, worked for a while, than quite. Two with the hammer of death noise when trying to eject, this last one just died straight out. :nonono: Guess I'm going aftermarket and ditching the mighty duo. :D

Anyway, are there any guage pods to put in it's place? Or do I get to have fun making one? What have you found to be the best way to mount something in that area?

Cool, might go that route.

Biggest thing is mounting it in there without messing up the factory stuff (just in case I ever want to put the car back stock) and making it halfway easy to take them out to get the whole center piece off.

i actually put in a single head-unit and filled the other slot with a "tray" from a 90's mazda 626......its great, i can put all kinds of stuff where my cd player was!.......and an added bonus, it is recessed IN and Down a bit so the stuff stays in during high rpm launches!

My radio/tape deck is fine. Never changed it. Just the CD players. I'm not a big music person. Never have been. That's about the only reason I keep buying the $40 CD players from wrecked stangs. After two kicking the bucket. I've decided it's a waste of time. I feel like I'm renting a CD player for a year or two. :nonono:

I actually have a tray insert too. :p But I haven't added any new guages and thought this would kill 3 at once and keep me out of a pillar pod.
