Anyone else have the #8 fuse keep blowing on them? On this fuse is the radio, clock, door chimes and the speedometer. I have talked to a few other people with 95 Stangs and they say they have had the same problem before and have no idea why. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem as well. I have checked all the wiring and keep finding nothing. It seems to go out randomly. I try replacing the fuse and it blows, over and over. Then i'll try replacing the fuse like a week later (never doing anything to the car) and it works again. When it does work it will work for sometimes weeks or months or sometimes minutes or days...I just dont get it. :bang:

So if anyone else has had similar problems please share the insight...

when it just blew 'randomly' did you open your vanity/visor mirrors. I realized when i was replacing my visors that they were on the same circuit as the radio and such.. i realized it because i touched the +- together and sparked em and it blew.

on the verts at least, there is only a + wire i believe and the - is just a ground that hits metal.. is it possible that the + hits metal somewhere and shorts the circuit

i just pulled this one out so i have no idea if it would cause too many people problems- it seems ford realized this though because on the newer visors there are two wires (one still + and the other still -ground) but they go somewhere else

Mine blew last week. First time it has ever blown on me. The fuse that always blows on me is the one under the hood that controls the cig lighter and the power seat.
Bump

everytime someone heavier than me (at~ 150lbs) adjusts the power drivers seat, the fuse seems to blow, it's happened twice and the same situation... my dad (~180lbs) or my buddy (~220lbs) gets in and adjusts it up or back, it decides they're too fat and goes kablewey

Fireworks...LMFAO :rlaugh: That is hilarious. But seriously, do anyof you have an aftermarket head unit installed? I know its painfully obvious, but i felt i had to suggest it. Wiring could be touching in back if not installed properly, or if you are running an amplifier with or without the stock headunit, this could also be the problem.

As for fat people blowing the fuse.......you guys let other people drive your car  whats up with that? :p

the power seat/cigarette lighter fuse keeps blowing because it is shorting underneath the drivers seat in the electric seat motor wiring. what is happening is the seat frame is digging into the wires and shorting em out as the seat goes forward and back and the wires get all bound up underneath the seat. i weigh 220 and it would always happen to me when i bought my 94. i took my seat out and although i really couldnt see where the wires insulation had been punched through, i wrapped then in electrical tape anyways where they touch the seat and wrapped all the wires individually to be sure they werent touching each other and put it all back together and have not blown the fuse since, and that was over a year ago.
