I'm trying to remove the 1" factory tape stripe that came on some 1987 GT's.

Its the stripe on the lower body molding. After 17 yrs its stuck on pretty good!! Trying to pull it off with my fingers is taking forever, since it tears in tiny pieces. Is there anything I can spray on or apply to the decal that will make it come off easier?? I'd like to scrape it but I'm afraid of scratching the molding....Any ideas would be helpful...

thanks

Might try a hair dryer to loosen it up a bit.

I was gonna say that, but was afraid a heat gun might be hot enough to warp the molding.

Yeah. You have to be careful any time you use a heat gun. Just is probably a little more friendly in the garage.

Also the Wife isn't going "Where's my hairdryer?" LoL
