I'm from Canada BC and I recently took my 2003 Mustang GT to AirCare and it failed for a couple of reasons. I was just wondering what I need to do to pass air care? This is the report I got. If I bought the o2 Simulators, would that help me pass this inspection?

Sorry dunno why the image is not landscape.

I have BASSANI MIDPIPE W/ CATS and MAC STAINLESS CATBACK installed.

The first two codes are for the front O2 sensors so MILs/simulators for the rears won't fix it.

I'd suggest trying new front O2 sensors. You might want to check other things like the condition of the spark plugs and fuel filter while you're at it.

Also, after clearing the codes, you're going to need to drive the car for a driving cycle's worth of kilometers to let the PCM perform its readiness checks (i.e. what they're calling "Readiness Monitors"). If you've got codes, you can't just erase them just before the test because while erasing them, you also erase the readiness status...

IMO, the absolute first thing to do is to fix the vacuum and exhaust leaks. If asked to handicap this, it's a vacuum leak since both banks are affected.

Check all connections, PCV hoses, grommets, oil dip stick, oil filler cap, valve cover gaskets, throttle body, intake tube. In short, any place that un-metered air can enter.

I suspect since it has thrown a "lean" DTC on both banks, the leak will be medium/large.
