For hydrocarbons.... However my wideband reads lean... So im thinking im dumping unburnt fuel at idle...

Should be at 220

At high idle i was 16XX
At Idle i was 10xx

Im pretty sure then the QH gets here i can mess with it and add timing etc. and correct the problem.

$100 bill usually fixes that problem and the car doesn't even have to leave the driveway..or so a little birdie told me

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

LOL. I wish a $100 bill would fix my problem here in GA. I can't believe I can't find a crooked emissions guy in a state that has private emissions testing. I just lean the fuel pressure out to about 34psi, and I pass fine on all items.

Is the air filter dirty?

Is the MAF dirty/contaminated?

O2's functioning ok?

It's weird that everything else seems normal except that one category.

I know that having the lowband O2 gauge is more of a light show than anything. But, it does show what the ecm sees and is a good indicator that the wideband O2 gauge is reading OK too.
I have both and they do fall in line with each other.

Hopefully you can pull some of the fuel out with that QH.

The problem is.... the wideband is saying 17-18 at idle and the stocks are showing 11-12...

I even reacalibrated the WB today

do you have long tubes?

i had a similar problem failed for HCs ... here's what i ended up doing:

a little background first ... my injectors are rated for 30# at 43 psi. so my tune says 30 for the high and low slopes. but since my rail pressure is less than 43 psi, they actually flow closer to 27-28#. so the adaptive logic in the computer had been compensating and adding fuel, and my KAMRF values were around 1.15 or so.

so i had made this plan to get the tank get down to about 1/4 or so and then i was going to add rubbing alcohol just before going thru again to lower the HCs. but i am so absent minded that i completely forgot to add the alcohol before getting in line, and did not realize it until i was at the front of the line. that was my "oh !@#$ moment.

then i realized that if i reset the computer and cleared the KAMs, then it would start running lean again, maybe lean enough to lower my HCs enough to pass. so i reset it and went through. and i passed!

would i recommend doing it the way i did it? only if you want to be absent minded and cause yourself unnecessary stress
but the alcohol thing still seems like a good idea

you could lower the first few values in your MAF Transfer function to cause the computer to provide less fuel at idle.

is the 17-18 at idle all the time or does it get lower when it warms up?
