Ok for those that thier distributor has fail. What symptoms have you had? I am trying to get my car tune but I can't seem to time it. It spudders under load and losses RPM above 2800.

I put in a new coil and wire. But no luck.

after timing did you put the spout back in. when i run mine through emissions i have to pull the spout to get it to pass. and i have the same symptoms with rpm's as you. when my dizzy failed it wouldn't start for a couple of days, and it would also stall and not refire for a couple of days. and it would throw and codes.

Mine didn't throw any codes, it just stalled out and sometimes wouldn't start back up immediately. When it is acting up, you wont get any pulsing out of the coil wire (ground).

I just replaced mine and took care of the stalling/no start issue, but now I have a sputtering/losing RPM problem.. I think I got a bad sensor.

What sensor would you say...Mine starts up and will start up everytime. Guess I need a different threads.

I changed mine using only a hammer and a bench vise. I just clamped it down below the gear to hold it and tapped the shaft with a hammer. I took a small bolt that fit into the end of the dizzy shaft and put used it to tap on so I wouldn't mess up the shaft. Don't forget to pull the roll pins out and mark the relationship between the gear and shaft.
