Feels like I lost alot of HP down low.

I recently installed a Borla cat back exhaust and Steeda cold air intake on 2003 Cobra. you can really hear the supercharger talk now but it feels like I lost alot of the low driveabilty horsepower under 3 grand but it really made it come alive up to 6000, will a Diablo sport remedy this problem by just plugging it in or do I need to have it tuned? Do most people expierence the same problem with these or similar bolt on?

You'll definately lose low end torque with a straight through catback in the low rpm. A CAI shouldn't make you lose much if any, and should really come alive in the mid rpm. In fact, you probably gained a psi or two with the addition of this cai.

A chip/tune will probably help you out a lot, especially becuase your boosted. If its more low end you want, just drop a smaller pulley in. In fact, if I were you, id drop a smaller pulley in (2-3 more psi), then get a chip and tune. With the intake/exhaust/pulley mods combined, you will see HUGE gains, especially with tuning.

You shouldn't lose ANY low-end power by installing that cat-back and CAI, you should pick up a bunch though! Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. Then pump the brakes once or twice. Now hook the battery back up. Go for 4 or 5 test drives and give the ECM time to learn the new intake & exhaust mods you just installed.

Stay away from smaller pulleys and aftermarket chips if you value your warranty.

This is what i was going to suggest. How long has it been since the install? If you did not disconnect the batt. for 30 minutes it takes a while for the Ecm to reconize the changes When i did those two mods to mine the power increase was immed. felt.

Power is back

Thanks goes out to unclemeat, I disconnected the battery and pumped the brakes and the car runs down low and high like it should

My first mod was a cai (Densecharger) and sotp gains were next to nothing. I then put on my Steeda cat-back and the sopt gains were big, from down low to up high. Like UM said, it shouldn't lose any power with those mods since the parts you are replacing are probably the biggest restrictions on the car. However, when I disconnected my battery for my cai(s), it never made a difference, at least that I felt. Might as well try anything if you think it will help.

95gts says he didnt notice a difference, but it was night and day for me. also, I only had it disconnected for less than a minute, will the suggested 30 min. make a differnce?

Two schools of thought on that question. Some say disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes, then reconnect. Others state all you need to do is disconnect the battery and then pump the brakes a couple times and then reconnect. Bottom line is you are resetting the adaptive memory area of the ECM by removing all power, kind of like a cold boot on a PC.
