Also forgot to mention once I get on the gas the check engine light will come on. (Edit sorry) once car warms up and I'm at a red light car dies out if I don't give it gas

Next call the previous owner and ask for a copy of the dyno sheet, he likely can't find it but it's worth a try.
Now lets get to work on your car:
Check for codes, there are instructions in the tech section, It was put together by jrichker, who is much smarter than me but then, so is most everybody here, it is always the first place to start and I recommend do'n this periodically.

This is on my list to do also, glad you guys have a post on this. When doing the alternator upgrade, what else besides the guage wire needs to be upgraded ? Like the coil ? Battery ? ect .. Want to make sure i have a total budge for it all.Another thing to look at, you appear to have an updated alternator, check out the 3g up grade in the tech section, if it is not done correctly it could be tragic.
