I wouldn't do it....you're losing weight on the wrong side of the car.....get a fiberglass hood.

I'de have to disagree, weight is weight and that damn hatch weighs a ton. I'm also curious as to the weight savings.

i agree with 92BlackGT, go with the hood instead. wrong end. need proper balance. stangs have enough trouble hooking the rears tires as it is. from what i've found though, the hatches run about $200 for the pin on and about $450 for the bolt on. then, you have to get the $100 lexan window to fit. check out jegs.com
here's the link, it's the last section on the page: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=2071&prmenbr=361

I didn't know that it needed a lexan back window. My car is a street car, so I think I'll just stick to the fiberglass hood. I like the look of the cowl hoods, but do not know which one. (2inch, 3inch,etc.) Someone please guide me as to which hood looks the best for my fox.

Can't go wrong with Cervini's 2 1/2" Cowl. Looks very clean and Great quality. Or Harwood makes a good quality hood as well. Just might take a little more time to fit. Here is a couple of pictures of my car with a Harwood 2 1/2 " Cowl. Hope that helps.

89sleeper, where do you get the hood pins from? Are they special for a stang hood?

I ordered them from PAW. They are made by Mr. Gasket. They are locks that are used with the stock latch assembly. They have been on the car for about 5 years now.
