Fiberglass hoods with hood struts

Has anyone used teh gas strut hod lifts with an aftermarket fiberglass hood?

Do you have to re-inforce the hood in any way? I know i have to extend the mount on the hood itself a few inches forward, but these things are set up for a heavy stock hood, i just dont know if i should worry about the hood cracking from the pressure of the struts or not.....

Should i run a strip of aluminum on either side of the hood bracing?

I put them on mine without any extra bracing. It seemed that the hood is reinforced on the outer edges anyway, it was thicker. Anyway, no problems anywhere whatsoever.

Which strut kit do you have? Redline or Innovative Tech?

I rock redlines too. As Dave and I found out at fun ford weekend... it was money well spent! The wind was killer!!! If anything were to happen, it would have happend that day!
