filler neck removal

I dropped my tank to install a walbro 255. I unscrewed the four bolts from underneath and the four bolts from the outside. But even doing this you can't remove the tank totally cuz the filler neck won't fit through the hole. So how can you remove the neck from the tank?

You don't you remove the tank from the filler neck. Grab the trust pry bar and slide the tank away from the filler neck that's how I did it.

We just kept twisting the filler neck back and forth and it broke it free from the tank

i just left it in and spun the tank out from under the car enough to drop the new pump in....you don't have to pull the whole thing out it isn't any harder. just sit on the ground and get to work.

There alot of dirt by the hole I'd like to be able to clean out good. Thats the only reason really.
