Well, I bought a salvaged title 03 Cobra for the purpose of using all the wiring from it in my 67 fastback mustang, which will have a complete 03 Cobra drivetrain and suspension. It took a pretty good hit in the driver's side fender, but for some reason the engine won't start up and run, it will crank all day but just won't start up. The fuel shut off switch was reset, along with all the other obvious things that could be checked, but still it just cranks. Eventually, I might sell this motor, so having it run is pretty important. I was also told if I take it to the dealer that it is some kind of theft device that they will reset and it will let the motor run. Any help?

i used to own an o3 myself. It wasnt salvaged though. As far as i know, there is no security device that would hamper it from starting

The PATS system might be the culprit...did you receive both sets of (factory) keys with the vehicle?

PATS would prevent it from starting. Is the PATS light flashing?

Is there fuel? Is there spark?

That's totally possible it could be the PATS system, it only came with one key, but why wouldn't that key work? Where it was hit caused alot of damage around the battery area along with the fuse box. It could be something that got damaged in the area and I just haven't found it yet.

All that damage to the fusebox area... There could easily be a critical wire or fusable link broken.
