I am finally back. It is good to be home except now I need a new transmission. I didn't even get to race the road race part of the event. My transmission broke during the half mile shootout. I managed to slip the transmission to 152.4 mph in the standing 1/2 mile which got me 3rd place out of about 50-60 in the unlimited King of the Hill. I then finished the transmission off in the burnout contest. We only had 15 seconds to shred the tires which was fine because my tires wore out quick at 182mph in OD sitting still.
We went over there with two others from this area. My friend Dayna in his '95 Mustang GT with Cervini Cobra R body kit and 392 stroker. His dad also came with in his bolt on '95 GT. Since my car was broken I navigated for one of our friends that has a 2000 Cobra R that is turbocharged putting out 709rwhp. His exhaust came apart during the race and the carpet started smoking from the heat. We ended up pulling out of the race so his car didn't burn to the ground. Overall a bad luck year for me, but I guess it gives me that much more motivation for next year.
Here's a bunch of pics:
Lined up for the starting of the 1/2 mile
I had to do something to stand out in the burnout contest so I painted my tires to match the tires that hang on the fence posts on all the farmers fields.
182mph in O/D
Dayna got 2nd place in the 1mile shootout the in the closest repeated run class when he ran a 157.2 and 157.3 mph back to back

I thought my trans range sensor went out so we walked through Arnold (population 750) at midnight looking for a Mustang to borrow a part from. This guy was nice enough to let us try his out.

They had a clash of American Muscle in the Mile Shootout: Ford GT vs. Corvette Z06 vs. Viper (all being new stock cars)
The GT won at 174mph in the standing mile.
