Nah, man, this is the new "kinder, gentler" me.
Actually, this is really the old, lazy me! I figure anybody that AJ doesn't take down will have to deal with Trish; and they'll be wishing they'd pi$$ed-off AJ after she's done with them. (If they're still capable of concious thought)

btw dreamin, last time i heard you were good out to 4000 yrds with that .308 ??
4000 yards???? What have you been growin' out back of the barn, there, buddy???
Any .308 round that would be safe in a Norinco M14-clone ain't gonna make it 4000 yards! I've heard of guys "nuclear loading" lightweight spitzer point .30-06 rounds for those distances, but they're using Remington 700 receivers - or better yet, pre-64 Winchester 70's; or some extremely rare clean German or late-1930's BRNO (Czech, and the best IMHO) '98 Mauser actions- with big, fat, heavy barrels!

Yeahyeahyeah; I know, "the .308 was the last and only MIL round to be (marginally) better than the '06 in an '03 Springfield to deliver decisive and accurate fire". But not in a Chinese semiauto based on the Springfield select-fire original! IF I could make a .308 get out 4000 yards without blowing myself up; it would be about 1/2" AGL, traveling only vaguely in the direction of POA at about 3-3/4 INCHES per second.
If I was serious about slapping somebody down at 2-1/4 miles (as if I could even see half that far); I'd be buying a couple pounds of Hodgdon powder and loading up exactly 16 rounds of .50 BMG to feed a 20-odd pound Barret.

Ummm....MRS. StDr could you please clarify something....who is the paranoid schizophrenic, Dutch or the Old Guy?

I think the Old Guy, being at least senile or demented, typo-ed the caption.

HA HA yeah i spose it's more like 1000 yrds.

the one thing that i reeeeally want to check out is the new 8mm casing with a 7mm round. that sounds like a screamer. either that or the old 45-120 quigley gun the .308 might be good, but not as much as some pump it up to be.

but talk about those pre-64 model 70's!!! ooooooooo, nice guns, a dealer up by us has a 7mm version w/ a flash supressor. mmmmmmm, cyotes!!

Hey now! The little voices tell me I'm ok; as long as I keep taking the green pills and wrap my head in tinfoil before I go to bed each night!

Semi-seriously..... Dutch has proven his paranoid tendancies. Last summer, we were out "in the wilds" (as far as he's concerned); on a beautiful June morning. As we were walking past a well that feeds one of our local indian reservations, we happened to walk past the cement standpipe, as we've done at least 1-2 times per month since I got him. Now it's about 5:30 AM, and the sun was barely peeking over the eastern horizon. As we walked past the east face of the standpipe, his shadow appeared on said standpipe.
He freaked and I ended up wearing the contents of my coffee cup as we flew through the air sideways; about 12 feet to the east.

The horse is literally afraid of his own shadow

Isn't the old guy Willie Nelson? Could account for the paranoid, they say the ganja can do that to you.

I wouldn't know personally but that's what I've heard.

(Disclaimer: I had to say that as I think the government is watching me from space right now as I'm typing)

Did it ever occur to you that it wasn't his own shadow that spooked him, but the shadow of the ghastly freak on his shadow back???

See?
NOW you know why I no longer have to jump into the "Redneck Dad" mode at the mere insinuation that some leg-humper is sniffin' 'round my eldest girl-child - it's handled for me!

And a right back atcha, AJ.

I have absolutely no clue where she gets it from......

Waitaminute; yes I do! Remember that last video I posted (of her mother pulling out of some fool's driveway in the Gremmie) over on sandhillsmustangs.com......

Bodyguard/mechanic/quarter-mile tutor/defender of freedom. And a darn nice all-around guy.

Color me a happy (and relieved) Dad.
