OK, guys, proud father bragging here, but I can't help it! My son's car has finally came out in the March issue of Mustang and Fords. I was beginning to think bad thoughts about Jeff Ford....but he came thru! First, his digital camera that took the shots in Silver Springs last January got stolen (didn't find this out till July!!!) then I had to get the car reshot, and yada, yada, yada.

ANYWAYS, this is great! My sons in his 2nd semester (freshman) at Ole Miss and I'm sure this will raise his status a bit on campus!

Oh my! I missed that post! Anyways, I didn't even know it was in this issue till today when someone mentioned it in a post I replied to. I subscribe, but I usually don't get it till the middle of the month. The second I found out, I dropped what I was doing at work and hauled a$$ to the local Wal Mart. Wasn't in  Then I went the Books-A-Million and bought all 5 copies they had!!!! :D

My poor son hasn't even seen it yet. He went to Wal Mart in Oxford and it's not there yet either. He is going crazy wanting to see it. If it weren't three hours up there and three hours back, I'd leave now and take it to him.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

I share your pride in having a son who takes up the car hobby. My son had a '67 Cougar GT and the two of us spent many happy hours messing with it. The Cougar has now been replaced by a Jeep and my son now has a wife and three kidsthree kids. My satisfaction is that he enjoys "wrenching" and talking about things mechanical.

Your son's car is something in which you BOTH can take pride! :nice: :nice:

Congrats on both building a super-neat car with your son, and on getting it in a magazine! I can't imagine how that must feel, but I'd sure like to someday! How did that happen anyway? I always wondered how people get cars featured, any tips?

Well, I'll tell this story! December 2002. The car was completed except for the wheels and tires. We ordered the wheels and tires just before Christmas hoping everything would be in so we could make the Crystal Springs show in January. Long story short, spend a lot of last minute craziness modifiying the wheel wells to get the tires not to rub, even brought a ball bat to the show with us and was working on the wheel wells in the parking lot at the motel in Silver Springs!!

Anyways, we participated in the Pony Trails to Daytona Beach and when we got to the speedway, we was killing time in the parking lot. Jeff Ford just happened to walk by and was looking at the car. When I mentioned the owner was 17, he took more intrest. He said he was hoping to start a series of articles about the YO club and this would be a great start. AJ and I flipped out!!! Jeff set a date of the last day of the show (Sunday) and said be out in the front parking lot after the show. So we did and he shot it.

Only tip I can make out of this shove your car in front of as many people you can. I've always wondered if you sent photos in would the magazine make an effort to do a photo shoot, or do the magazine people actually have to see the car in person first? I don't know, but I do know Jeff Ford is going to be at the Nashville show this year. and is NOT going to be at the Pensacola show.

Again, thanks for all the comments. :flag:

Great story, since I notice most of the cars shot in the magazine are from the eastern part of the country I figure my chances are slim, at best. But once my car is done, I plan on attending shows that require some driving! After all, if you don't drive it, what's the piont? Anyway, congrats again, you've certainly earned a feature, and tell your son I think he's got great taste!
