Last friday i got Hooker longtubes and an X pipe installed so i thought i would make a little review. Steen racing (some of you know them for their heads) installed them for me. They told me they might be done in 3 hours. It ended up taking them over 8 hours because of the slip fit design. They suggest using MAC or Kooks. The steering column has a slight rubbing with the headers.

Overall the power gain was awesome. It felt like a whole new car. More power over the rpms not to mention they climb faster. The sound at lower rpms is alot deeper and quieter no more tin can sound and around 3500 and up its louder, the sound is similar to a nascar stock car.

Hopefully I can get it on the dyno soon to get some new numbers.

Damn. They should have still charged you for the job, not how long they took.

Mine took 8 hours and I was charged 350 for install at Injected Racing in Springfield Missouri.

Now it took me forever to do the LT's on my old Cobra

Cool! I'm having rubbing issues with my flowtech (same as hooker), with my suspension setup it's a bit worse than a stock setup would be...so I'm gonna have to pull the headers off and heat em with a torch and dent in two of the primaries so it won't rub anymore lol...

Watch out for the slip fit leaking, mine leaked pretty bad...I ended up JB welding the joint solid after lots and lots (I mean LOTS) of RTV blew out...but after a while the headers vibrated all that loose and still leaking.

They'll make great power though, thats for sure!
