Nice times David.
I went to the track w/ my setup for the first time also and ran a 12.85 @ 108 w/ a 1.90 60'. This is on 3:27s, 3:73s are going in soon along w/ a trac-loc rebuild b/c only one tire was pulling a majority of the time. I'm running 275-40-17 nitto dr's w/ 16 psi in me and I love em, but they pick up every lil pebble in the road and throws it which I hate. Its also a dialy driver.

Do you have mud flaps?

Hey Kevin...what were your 1/8 mile times and mph...I know mine should and will be higher...it seems that 5spd swap helped you out...

Edit: Alright...I got your 1/8 mile times...just got your PM from the corral...I need to get back to the track when I get those Dr's and drive "quicker"...

Arent the pebbles and rocks that are thrown up by your Nitto's chipping away your paint? On the lower part of the 1/4's?They did mine It looked like it was sand blasted! The guy who put them on(previous owner) put them on too high(mud flaps) so it wasnt protecting the very back part of it

Hey willys...I think they make a clear little plastic like cover that you can put behind your tires on the back fenders and is pretty much invisible...it might be another option for you to think about...I'll have to look into also when I get the Dr's...

A lot of cars come with them on their hoods/grille area...or people put them on anyways to protect the clearcoat...

3M makes that rock and chip guard that sticks to the paint similar to a sticker, Optically clear. This comes on many factory vehicles, including Porshe, BMW and Mercedes. Be prepared it is expensive, but works very well....

FWIW

I made only 5 runs on my FTI combo before I sold it. Best mph of 108.8 (1320) and this was my best 1/8th.

r/t=.731
60'=2.21 (best I ever got on street tires )
330'=5.875
1/8=8.773
MPH=86.02

I sold to go to a new combo, slightly faster than the old
mike.

Yeah when I get some dr's (traction) I'll be able to know where to shift at from the 2nd-3rd shift...I was having to guess where the rpm was at in relation to the speed and I would shift early which would relate to a "powerbog"...and I had to build it back up...I figure that hurt the mph...and then when I go back I'm going to hit the gears hard/quick...

I work for a 3M Preferred Converter and can check on pricing tomorrow I know the last time I quoted something for a body shop it wasn't cheap. I beleive the cut piece I quoted for a Mercedes rear quarter panel was over $80 a side.

I think some parts stores carry it in 3" wide rolls.

Ouch...yeah if you can get around to it a pricing would be nice...I was thinking the parts store carried it in little strips or something...

7.70 in the 1/8th would be about a 12.00 in the 1/4.

I believe it acts like tape...it just peels and sticks onto your paint...I hope Rick comes back with a price...I'll have to check out the local parts stores and see if they got it I guess...

Here's some pricing on the good stuff

24" wide x 36yds(108ft) long 12mil Clear Protective Film $922

So how many rolls do you guys want? They make a 6mil thick version $782, if the interest was high I could see what I could do on better pricing, and I could laser cut out the shaped needed.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
