Finaly Stang is on road again with new NEW TKO500 transmission PICS here

Well like everyone knows on May 27th '06 i broke my T5 ,two weeks leter on June 15th '06 i got TKO500 from ProMotion , when UPS delivery tranny in box i saw one little hole on one side so i opened box, butdidn't see anydemage on that that side (it was tail shaft side)
Later on today i find out tranny was stuck in gear so i called Walt at ProMotion to talk with him about it
He told me somewhere in shippment UPS drop box and it get stuck in gear and it was easy fix, just pull one of covers on top of tranny and push one gear
Same day i took tranny to guy who is doing swap and he fix that stuck gear problem
We install all parts i got from ProMotion (bellhousing, new clutch, driveshaft space .......)
We then poor tranny fluid which was GM synchromesh,we started car and i took from test drive ,2 minutes later i saw on rear wiew mirror some smoke coming on rear BUT before we instelled tranny back on i painededH-pipe with high temp paint since mine MACwas kinda rusted so i tought thet was just paint burning on
So i was cool, i come back from test drive and i tought everything was cool, untill i parked car and get out ,when i start smelling burning oil, I was WTF
ook under car when i saw oil dripping from tranny between bellhousing and front off tranny
I tought it maybe front coveron top of tranny,so wee pulled tranny out ,
Nope it wasnt copver that was leeking , it was leeking under bearing retainer, wee look at little bit closer at bearing retainer when i spot little crack ,not long ,just small that runs under bearing retainer, so wee pulled bearing retainer and BAM ,that lille crack was looong ,all way down
In about 15 min i lost 2 qt of fluid and tranny was almost empty
So i called ProMotion same day and told they whats going on,they told me i have to call UPS and fill claim with them wich i did,
A few days after UPS truck came at my house to pick up tranny and to shipped back to ProMotion in FL,then i had to make about 500 calls to who knows what UPS#
So how it get broken it was droped atend and all that weight was transfeted to rear ,and it was cracked just when wee bolt it on bellhousing crack expand

After 43 days UPS finaly decide to pay full amout what i paid for tranny and 5 days after i got another TKO500 in mail and this time UPS paid for shipping with 2nd shipment
This time no crack and no stuck in gear
I installed tranny again and now i'm on 300th miles (500 miles break in)
Shifts nice and smoth

So just to let you guys know, if you gonna buy some expensive parts and get shiped with UPS, pay more and get shipment pallet ,thatway there is less chances to UPS drop box or what ever

Here is some pics i took it

Mine sfifts fine
I never tryed stock TKO shifter , when i bought tranny i bought Pro5.0 shifter too so i don't know difference
But i tell you what, shifting in T5 in TKO500 with both Pro5.0 shifters are way different , TKO500 have much shorter shift travel which i liked
And if you tryed shift into 3rd on TKO like on T5 ,you will misses and put into 5th because gears are too close in TKO and best way to shift into 3rd on TKO is just push straigh from 2nd because of heavy spring in tranny
BUT i think everyone knows that

Yeah i remember i had trouble at first shifting to 3rd because i would go over toward 5th. 3rd gear is like straight up in TKOs. I like mine a lot too.

Car sounds AWESOME!!! Thanks for the FYI on UPS. Also, what's up with the 4050 weight? Edmunds and a coupla other car spec sources state the stock vert weight at 3450.

Ernan, any update on how you like this trans?

Specifically, what RPM are you shifting at, are you shifting it hard and have you experienced any issues with shifting?

Thanks,

TKO500 is different than T5, example you dont shift into 3rd from 2nd like on T5, you just push forward and since Shifter have strong spring it puts in between so there is no way missing gear, but if you try go forward than righ than forward you will end up in 5th
Yes i have shifted at 6300 with speed shifting no problems at all, they say its good up to 7k

I have a 3550 and I know what you're saying about going from 2nd to third or from 3rd to 4th.

all you have to do to run through the gears is move the shifter down, up, and down again...no finding gears or anything. I love it.
