I am curious as to what sources of info you all have found to get historys on your stang. I bought an 03 Anniversary Cobra used with 66 miles on it in november. It was used because Ford motor company sold it to Ford Motor Credit. They were the registered owners on the Michigan title (not Manufactures orign title but actully titled to Ford in state of Michigan) It was then sold at Manheims Detriot auto auction to my ford dealer who i got it from.
I was told that Ford ocasionnally sold cars to itself (like me making dinner for my wife and charging her for it, imagine that...wierd!), for purposes called "service vehicles". Examples i have heard is it may have been a auto show circuit, production car dyno test, CEO felt like driving one, ect. It was built on 7-31-03 and sold to Ford motor credit on 9-23-03 and sold at auction a month later. SVT customer service has no idea, Ford motor credit has no record of "owning it". Carfax says nothing.
