Finish maintiance

Guys I know this is another one of my questions that sounds kinda stupid, but after today I need some advice.

I washed my new bright red GT Mustang today. Everywhere there was a water drop it spotted. The glass was clean, but now if you touch it, it finger prints, and you know how the doors are built. It is natural to shut the door holding the side glass.

I need some help here on what to do, what products to buy to take care of this car. I used Turtle Wax car wash and AmorAll on the tires. All of this is in the dumpster now, help me please.:owned:

(Does this qualify as Tech?)

Always wax your car out of the sun to avoid getting any swirls or streaks from the wax never 'forming' up. I like to do all my cleaning in the morning before the sun had a chance to heat up the paint.

My favorite products:

For waxing purposes I prefer Mothers brand wax [The stuff in the red can - "mothers original"] It goes on easy and comes off quickly. Plus it has a good smell so you are not passing out from strange fumes.

I also like Mothers brand wheel cleaner for the rims.

I use the foaming type if tire shine. It comes in a black can, I think from Amour all? This saves me some time as I just have to wipe the resude off at the end.

I use the Amour all cleaner (purple bottle) on the interior plastic. This way, it doesn't leave a shine but still cleans off the dirt.

The leather wipes are also fairly handy to have around.

i used zaino bros stuff. expensive but there stuff is killer. i have dead bugs all over my car from the laser like beams shooting off it from the sun hitting it and killing anything flying near it.

Don't close the door using the glass. It may be natural but it's no good for the glass and the guides.
exactly! i use the belt moulding, so that way i dont touch the glass or the paint. only problem with that is the corner of the belt moulding is flaking.

i use the molding between the window and door, or the door handle. wish i could get others to do that. Get a "The Absorber" its a man made chamois that comes in a tube. It stays wet (when its in the tube) and you can put it under the seat and wipe the prints down whenever you get a chance. Gas stations for instance.

Thro away the shami and buy a Aqua Dry towel. It is much easier to dry with and only 5 bucks. It is made of a sponge material, rings out easily and cuts your drying time in half. :)

And Mcguires Cleaner Wax. "very thin application not in the sun!"

I close my drivers side door by placing a finger on the door lock depression in the door handle, so that way there are no finger prints on the paint.

I use Meguiars NXT products because they are pretty good and readily available, and reasonably priced. I have never used Zaino, so I don't know what I'm 'apparently' missing.

I tried Zaino. It's good but I found it to be expensive, time-consuming and difficult to apply. Meguiars is better in those regards. I have never tried Mother's but Chip Foose loves it.
