First Mod?

Yep, if it's a 'custom' tune loaded by someone like bama or brenspeed. As far as the tunes go, the SCT x-cal is just a transport device.

As far as other parameters, I think the x-3 has more extended datalogging/option changing.

this is from the JLT website. on the brenspeed site, the SCT x2 comes with a BBK intake (not a JLT). does it matter all that much?

"· Best HP/dollar kit on the market · New improved Billet MAF · Exact color options · Large S&B lifetime air filter · Improved throttle response · Firmer shifts for automatics · Easy install · All SCT X-3’s come with 87, 91 & 93 tunes installed for easy plug & play."

ok.....................tune this, tune that - how bout I'm not going to or even think about running premium go-go gas @ your calculated $6.00+ per gallon. besides the fact of clearing codes ( I plan not to throw any), and turn off O2's (I need cats for emissions), what would an 87 octane tune do for me.....................realistically - is it still worth the bux if there's no way in hell I'm gunna run premium fuel?

Hmm. I'd be a little more open minded about this. Running a 93 octane tune with 93 octane gas is going to allow you to achieve better gas mileage. I've done the numbers and I nearly break even. It's not worth it to not run it in my mind. Not only is it going to give you better gas mileage, more power, it's going to be much better for the car. But if you can't get past the cost and want to run 87 octane, it's still going to be a BIG difference. If you have an automatic, it's going to be a HUGE difference. It's worth it. 93 octane is REALLY worth it.

I'll have to give it sum more thought then, but @ $6.25 a gallon for premium here in Canada is VERY hard to swallow. Regualr 87 oct is $5.60 a gallon. BTW, I run a stick, the only way I roll.

noticeable I would do springs, that was my 2nd thing.....I had to do an axle back first as the car was too quiet for my tastes. Can't comment on a tuner as i'd still like to get one but hear great things about them.
