Should be a cold air intake, headers, and cermaic brake disks.

The Mustang has "header like" iron exhaust manifolds. So even if the manifolds are as efficent as headers I would think that you could drop some serious weight with headers.

I read the long/short tube thread regarding the emission issue. Another question. Do the short tubes bolt up to the stock exhaust or is there need to modify the stock exhaust?

The new Mustang needs to be trimmed down a bit first so I am looking for any hp and weight reduction Mods and headers are the top of the list.

I am looking for 200 hard pounds ( would like to take 200 out of the car without a back seat delete and removal of the spare tire). I might need it one day

I hear you but

That is an enviornmental issue. If I can take enough weight out of the car to equal the HC trap removal then I would do that first irrespective of the cost.

Unless you plan to reflash the ECU with a modified tune, then you may want to leave the HC trap in place.
I understand that the stock tune has the A/F ratio configured with the HC trap in place, and removing it without modifying the tune will excessively lean out the fuel mixture, and possibly result in reduced performance(not to mention possible engine damage).

Isn't buying a gas guzzling V8 and then trying to be concerned with environmental issues a little hypocritical? I say a few extra hydrocarbons escaping - oh well - they're balanced out by the neighbor's new hybrid :p
