First post on here guys, need some help from "noise" gurus

Hey Guys,


I have recently developed a small problem I think with my AC. Its blowing cold and pressure is fine, but there is a faint whining noise coming from the engine bay when it is turned on. It almost sounds like an ambulance miles and miles away. Its not loud at all but its noticeable. It goes away when I shut the AC off. Any ideas?

Sounds like the a/c compressor is making the noise or maybe it's clutch assy. Probably nothing to worry about.

heh you are probably right, I think im losing it. Im always so anal about new noises in the car.

I have heard of this issue from plenty of people...seems to be a pretty common thing that no one really notices unless it is "your" car. You know how that goes...

Eiether way, nothing to be concerned about
