Hey all, I went to Heartland Park in Topeka yesterday and ran my mach about 11 times. It was my first time ever to a dragstrip and it was pretty fun and educational. I know a lot of people at tracks say this but I think the track was running slow. LS1s were truning mid 13 to high 13s and a C5 vettes best time was 13.7. Well anyways here is my info on my best run, i also cut a 13.8, 13.8 and a 14.01 ;-(((. My mach 1 has magnaflow cat back, pro chamber mid pipe, steeda short throw, and drop in K&N.

best run:
R/T .530
60' 2.141
330 5.788
1/8 8.827
mph 81.30
1000 11.409
1/4 13.537
mph 104.30

A guy in an 01 cobra that was running said that was a super time for this track for an exhaust only mach 1. I was runnning completely stock tires and suspension. Do you guys think this is good, bad, or in between and what do i need to work on? Thanks!

your times are very good for a first timer, i'm impressed for whatever that's worth

you think those ls1's were running slow???I went wednesday night and 125 shot ls1s were running low 13's @ 113, i was however clicking off 13.3s.

Sounds pretty good to me, especially for a first time at the track. Were u riding 3rd through the traps or did you hit 4th gear just before, just wondering?

Well thanks for the compliments guys . Well I was experimenting riding it out or quick shifting to 4th. I didnt really notice any significant gains or losses either way. I was wondering what would be best because i was definelty near redline about the last 100-150 feet of the run each time and I know i was past my power curve so I was wondering what what workd best with the mach?

Damn good times man! Much better than my first time at the track lol. I only got to run 3 times though then it started raining. My best time was a 14.6, best 60' was 2.4, and best mph was a 99.8. That was done tapping the rev limiter in 3rd as I crossed the line. Pretty horrid for all Ive done to the car, but considering '03 Cobras were running mid 13's there I wasnt to depressed. Im waiting another couple of weeks, then I might try to get out and run some at the Rockingham drag races in 2 weekends. Ive got to definately work on the start and Ill move my shift points to ~5500rpms.
Congrats though, you did a lot better than me my first time .

Good times bro! How much gas did you have in the tank? I like to keep mine between 1/2 and a 1/4 tank at the track. To much in the tank isn't a good thing. Too little isn't either. A little bit of weight in the back helps with weight transfer off the line. A gallon of gas weighs 8#'s.

You had fun right?! That's the most important thing!

lol yeah it was a pretty warm day out, but other than that the conditions were pretty good. Lets see I saw the only 04 cobra out there last night run a best of 13.26@109.5, the LS1s were tapping around 105-108, and the C5 vette was running 13.6-13.7 at 108. Yeah it was my first time ever to a track, I have never even been able to go watch the drag races before. I had just over a 1/2 tank of gas when I started, and yeah it was definetly a lot of fun.

Get some Nitto's and LCA's then watch that 60 DROP! I cut more than 2 tenths off my 60 w the Nitto's alone!
