Fitment of Black Magic Fan in 66 Coupe

I am considering ordering a Black Magic electric fan from Summit tommorrow, and was wondering if anyone has swapped one of these into their first gen mustang? The possible problem I see is the depth of the fan, it is listed as both 4 and 4.25 inches, 4 inches is an extremely tight fit, and and 4.25 will flat out not squeeze in without offseting the fan motor. I'm not sure how accurate the dimensions are tho so I was hoping for some first hand experience. Also if this is a no go then what other fan would you fella's recommend for a very mild 289 w/ a/c, and the electrical system has been upgraded to handle the added draw.

The black magic fans will not fit in a 65-66 mustang. You will have to either get a Spal, or Hot Rod Air Electric fan, or the one above in order to fit correctly. I have the Hot Rod Air fan in my 65 and have no problems except the fuse blowing out occasionally for no reason that i could find.

This is good to know. I was wondering about the alternator being able to handle the current with the AC on and all of the whistles and bells. I was hoping I didn't have to step up to one of the super ultra beefed up alternators to run a fan.

Does the Jeep one mount with brackets?

I need a good electric fan w/ a thermostat too that will be used along w/ a/c also.
What other suggestions are there ? I was looking at the Summit website about this yesterday.

I actually ended up buying one of the fans from www.zirgo.com I'll see how this works out for me and then let the rest of you guys know.

Mustang Paul the reason I'm not worried about my electrical system is because I have a Powermaster 100a alternator, 0/1 gauge wiring running from alt to battery, battery to chassis, and chassis to engine block, an Optima Yellow Top battery underhood as well as new connectors and terminals. I don't think I would trust the stock electrical system to run an electrical fan especially when in conjuncture with the A/C.
