I've seen many posts about Fox VC's, but Im still a little uncertain. With my stock rockers, Typhoon Intake and Supercharger on, can anyone tell me if these will fit without spacers, problems, etc?

If so, do I just get a pair of stock gaskets from the dealer to use with them?

Jose gave me a pair from his old car. He started polishing them, but you can see by this pic the small area I worked on to completion.... If I know these will fit, I will continue to polish them for the next time I take off the upper intake.

The other VC not in this pic has the oil filler neck.

I dont know if you will have clearance issues, since I run the Fox conversion

The only issue I ran into was with the perf. prod. elbow (huge peace of junk, but I was going to grind on it anyway and the price was good) the area that is the EGR has a dip that was realy, realy close to my fox covers, mine are sanded and painted so I was even more so worried about paint chips. I ended up grinding down the area with a dremel to give myself some room and there was plenty of room to grind on. Also I had to grind the H&ll out of the t-body area where a electric hook up goes to make room for it to go on.

I have an Edelbrock Elbow and TB. The only Pro Prod. I have is the Intake.

What about the gasket?

When I take off the Stock VC's the original gasket stays stuck to the block. When I put the stock ones back, there was no leaking.

Could I just leave them right where they are and try these?

What I "could" do is just try the Driver's side first, since it is easy to get to, and see how it works....If no issues, then I could remove the upper and do the pass side Just a thought.

is there any issues with the alternator or is that only with tall VC's?

RC I'm using Fox chrome vc w/ no problems. They should work for you w/o any issues also.

It will ever so slightly interfere with the alternator on a NA setup, not sure about placement with your Vortech.

Grinding off 1/8th of an inch or so made it perfect. On the other hand, you do have to move the alternator out of the way anytime you want to take the passenger side VC off...kindof a pain, not a big one, but still a pain as opposed to before.

I'm running fox VCs but I had to use spacers for my TB and elbow to clear the VC. I have 2 - 3/8" spacers. Other than that they are fine.

What about the gasket? Like I mentioned above, When I take the stock VC off, the thin metal gasket stays stuck to the block. Should I just be able to "place" the Fox VC right on top and tq down the bolts?

RC, I reused my stock gaskets when I switched my valve covers out. I took them all the way off an inspected them to see if there was any tears in the rubber and all looked good so I stuck them back on. Your elbow adapter will sit real close to the fox VC's and if you get a thicker gasket than stock, you might have to grind down the part that the EGR bolts to. When I put my TW heads on, they sit a little higher than stock I guess because that part on the elbow where the EGR bolts up to was hitting my valve cover... Had to grind it down almost 1/2 way up the bolt hole. Just giving you a warning if you were thinking about getting thicker gaskets.

My motor disassembled

I painted everything man including the block

Sorry RC not going to hi-jack your thread buddy. I had to do this since you said I had matching sox!

Zach,
WHen I "tried" to use those cheap chromers from Summit, I left the gasket in place. When those crappy things started leaking, I painted the stockers and put them back on, again without EVER moving the gaskets at all. They have been there for several months now without any leaking.

Like I said, Ill try the Driver's side first to test for leaking, then Ill do the pass side.

RC...i see you mentioned few times how your Summit ones leaked....
For what its worth....
The type they sell cannot use the stock rubber VC gasket.....in the pic, did yours have the "notches" around the perimeter??? This type of VC needs a gasket with "ears" that go into the notches....i ran this type for 2 seasons with never a leak....
