Fitment Problem with Strut Brace and Intake Cover

Has anyone tried one of the Intake covers with a strut tower brace. I've seen photos of the braces and there doesn't seem to be much room for one of the new covers I've seen advertised. A cover for the intake and new valve covers will really clean up the appearance of the engine compartment. That's an area where Ford fell on it's sword for this model. I don't know what they were thinking except to give the aftermarket more to work with.

I have the Steeda Billited ST Brace on my 05 GT. There should be more than enough room for the Cover to fit under it. The STB is shaped such that it should not be a problem. I will try to get a measurement and see if I can post a photo or two for you. Also, the STB swivels a bit (front to back). There are several other STBs out there, but they look a little tight from their propaganda photos than the Steeda one.

I have an early single bar Steeda steel non-adjustable brace. It just barely makes contact with my intake cover in a couple of spots. I'm certain it will crack the intake cover eventually, especially when the motor jumps under hard acceleration. I tried raising the brace 1/2" and then it pressed into the hood insulation blanket. The intake cover wins. Looks really good. The strut brace has been removed for now. :notnice:

you mean like this...It works but the brace does make contact with the cover and presses on it some.just keep that in mind, but it looks great :nice:

I have the cover with the BMR brace and it is a very tight fit. I put washers under the brace which helped a little. So far I haven't had a problem, my guess is because of the floating motor mounts. Once I switch to the Steeda motor mounts I think it will be an issue and I'll have to come up with another plan.
