I have a rebuilt 306 with a flat tappet cam in my '94GT. I believe it is an A312 cam and the firing order is different from your typical late model 5.0. I want to go with some aftermarket heads. Will the aftermarkets work well with the flat tappet or should I change out my cam as well???
I dont' really see there being any correlation between the type of camshaft and cylinder head choice, unless your worried about piston to valve clearance. I have a flat tappet camshaft on my 408 with AFR 185's, and it works fine.
