Flat tappets?

I had a 302 roller engine built for my 65 with a modified cam, bored, etc. I am now wondering if this engine has flat tappets. Anyone know?

The only way to know is to pull a valvecover and look down the pushrod holes at the tops of the lifters. If you see them linked in pairs so they cannot rotate in the bores, then it's a roller. If you can't see down the heads, then the intake will have to come off.

Why do you suspect your "roller" engine has a flat cam?

You will have to look at the lifters to be sure. A flat tappet cam will work perfectly well in a roller block.
