Anyone else in Houston? Saturday we had some pretty serious downpouring. Long story short, my 91 lx (manual t5) got trapped in knee high water, stalled, and i had to push her into a parking lot, where she sat for two days unable to start.
After trying about a hundred different things, I finally was able to get her engine turning over. At which point she spewed about 10 gallons of murky water from her dual exhaust. very shaky, but moderately drivable, a friend followed me the 7 miles home.
Today I flushed her oil, but I then found that her transmission, brake lines, and power steering pump all got watered down. I plan on flushing those tomorrow (Tuesday). I've flushed the pump and transmission before, but it's been quite some time on both, and never for a purpose like this.
Anyone got any advice on the best methods? I'm still researching, but I don't at the moment know exactly how much transmission fluid I'll require, or if there's an additive i should or should not use. Also, just how immediately detrimental will it be for me to drive another 15 miles tomorrow to and from work?
If there's anything else i should check out, please feel free to enlighten me. I've had my Leala for 9 years and she's been very good to me. It breaks my heart to hear her struggle.
Thanks!
