ok heres the deal i dunno what to do my floor pans are in perfect shape except two golf ball size rust holes all the rrest of the pans are perfect no rust or anything what should i do cut out the rust and weld a new piece in
If the rust is localized as you describe, I'd cut out the rusted portion and weld in an appropriate patch. The more of the original floor that you can leave, the better (trust me).
I have a writeup on my cardomain about the floors... check it out before you start cutting. I would just patch the local areas with metal and leave the rest alone. Just be sure (100%) sure that is all there is. If someone has undercoated it, remove all that before you say they are good.
Yeah just cut out what is bad and weld a small patch in. But like Red5oh said check them out good. I have saw pans that looked pretty good and when you get to cleaning them off more holes appear.
Thanks alot... I am glad I can help out... I have to update the site since I have it painted now. It looks great and I just have to find the rest of the money to do interior, glass, etc.
As always, if there are any more pictures you need for anything, I will gladly send them. The cardomain has only about 10% of the pictures I have.
