I don't know what your problem is. Try installing quicktime if you don't have it.

I think my car was too loud for the sound to be good. Further away probably would have been better. My camera is a still digital, so vids aren't the best. It did sound like crap on the camera, but I thought it would be better on a computer. We are going to get an actual digital camcorder and make some sweet videos with music and previews and everything. I just have to figure out why my car is missing a bit and it has to stop raining.

cam is TF stg. 1.

With my 5 psi spring, it made 15 psi, which is much more than I wanted, so I'm getting another spring made and try to get it down to around 10-12 psi. Then beef up the tune and it should have about the same amount of power once I fix the missing and all. Or I could just keep it pig rich with 16 total timing with 15 psi, but then the numbers don't sound that great. I'm orders new wires and changing my plugs and gapping them less, so hopefully I'll be able to get full pulls when I take it back to actually get tuned.

Well if its a 5psi spring, doesnt that mean something else is not up to par if its not keeping it at 5psi? I mean another 10psi is a TON of boost creep. Is your waste gate big enough? I remember i saw a guy on TM who had a problem like this...although i dont htink it was that drastic, he ended up adding another wastegate to his and it was fine. I think the location of the wastegate on the system determines if it will be able to bleed off enough.

I guess my main question is what is causing a 5psi spring to boost to 15psi?

my 7-9 psi spring is netting me ~5-6 psi. i placed the wastegate in a way that it scavenges and operateds more efficiently. im running a deltagate too, its only 35mm. i dont know how low the springs go but something doesnt sound right. maybe your gate is sticky or the diaphram has a leak.

actually i just looked at your old buildup thread and your gate is kinda where mine is. where did you run your gates refernce line to? something is not right. you were running 6psi in the beginning with the same spring?
what goes on?

I definately think something is up. Either in design or setup. I dont think u should "band aide" it unless u dont feel like fixing it.If everything is working right, it shouldnt over boost...especially not by 10psi.

Well, actually you are not correct. It is not creeping. It hauls right to 15 and stays dead steady right there in every gear. That is not creep. I'm really not too worried about it. Whats the difference? Yeah, maybe it is the the BEST wastegate placement, but it is easy to get too, is routed off both banks, and does not affect the air flow, as opposed to when people put them at the end of the crossover. It is functioning just fine in my opinion and everyone else who has been in the car.

plus, I don't mind 15. haha!

That is not correct either. I was never running 6 at WOT, I had made 6 in the past before the tune at half throttle.

I have the bottom port to the turbo and the top port t-ed with bov line into the vac line going into my FPR T. I don't see a problem with that. do you??

Like I said though, I really don't care. Everything is just fine.

Everything may be ok with what u want out of the car, all we are saying is that if its boosting thatmuch over what the spring is rated at, something is out of wack. Now do u want to fix or change it? Thats a totally different story/arguement.

Now im a rookie when it comes to this stuff so im not trying to tell you that u're wrong or how to do something, just letting my ideas run to maybe strike up some thoughts/conversation so we can all learn whats supposed to happen.

But with your WG....it was my understanding that u only had either the turbo compressor outlet or the manifold into the bottom port on the WG. When the compressor or manifold sees 10psi or whatever, the WG will open. Keeping your boost at 10psi. Now they say going from the manifold gives less spool time since the manifold sees less boost than the outlet of your turbo. So, since your boost is going way over what the spring is for...then something else is up.

You dont have a boost controller hooked up. From what i have read, you only tap into the top port for when u run a boost controller...otherwise u run it open to atmosphere. Now with a boost controller, i believe that you run a line from the intake, to the controller, then to the top port...with your bottom port in the same location as before. Then u turn the controller up or down adding more boost to your liking.

Im thinking that with the way u have it setup, u are actually creating a boost controller that cant be adjusted. The thing is that a boost controller adds pressure to the top of the spring in the WG so that its harder to open...thus giving you more boost. Now the way u have it, u have the boost from the turbo trying to push the spring open but then u also have the boost from the intake pushing back down. Thats why i think you are getting such high numbers. I wonder what will happen if u just take off that line going to the top port and just plug it

And like i said man, im not saying u or anyone else is wrong. These are just my thoughts and me trying to put 2 + 2 together from what i have learned. I would like to come to a conclusion on why its doing it, so that we can all learn about it. Now if u dont want to fix it, thats fine.

thats your problem right there. the top port is the top of the diaphragm. that goes to a boost contoller ONLY that port going to your other stuff just compresses the air in the line and stops the diaphragm from opening. your bov and fpr is now just a boost controller.

edit: see above post, i replied before i read it.
