Hey everyone this is my first post on the forums and just recently my parents got me a 2005 ford mustang GT as my first car, and im only 16! well anyways i was having some decision troubles with which muffler i wanted to choose, my choices were between the flowmaster american thunder classic axle-back system and the SLP powerFlo Axle-Back mufflers. Im looking for a nice deep-throaty muscle sound that isnt too loud that i dont wake up the nieghbors at 5 in the morning and i hear from different threads that they are both good muffles just can someone tell me their opinion and what they think the pros and cons of each muffler are. thanks

16 years old and a new GT. hope your parents are ready to pay for some speeding tickets real soon. i wouldnt get neither the flows or the SLP powerflos, they are both too quiet, only a little louder than stock. magnapacks are great.

I have the slp loudmouths, i would say they would be good and loud for a 16 year old. They make me giggle like when I was 16. Lots of thumbs up from people with lesser vehicles too. Got one this morning from a guy in a honda ridgeline.

I like the sound of the mustang. Totally different then my hemi durango with its flowmaster 50. The mopar sounds deeper and has longer intervals between the thuds in your chest. The mustang just sounds like it rapes, plunders and then tears up asphalt leaving ruts in the road.

My two choices were the MAC Boomtubes and the SSS street legal exhaust (link at cruzinconcepts. Looks like a SLP powerflow copy). I don't plan to do any furthur mods and wanted the deepest/loudest tone without the raspy tone of straight pipes. Went with the boomtubes and am very happy I did. Be very careful with your new car. Your parents are very generous.
