I own a 97 cobra and have my car in the shop right now trying to install flowtech 12114 headers into my car. First glance the mechanic told me the new motor mounts and headers will be done within a week. Then told me the passenger side header was hitting the frame before the engine even touched the engine mount. So i called and flowtech said that the headers i have are the right size. The solid motor mounts claimed they were for a mustang gt of the same year but was told it was the same size as the cobra? so i dont know if my frame is messed up or if the mount are the wrong size? any help or comments appreciated!!

Im sorry I cant help you with that, might want to try the 4v section

Also, when using flowcraps, make sure you seal them on the slip with some RTV, otherwise, they will leak.

why on earth did you get solid motor mounts? I would imagine that might be part of the problem...your teeth are going to get rattled to all hell

maybe the 4v motors need more clearence or something...

It's the headers - flowtechs SUCK!!! Mine used to leak SUPER bad and I had to chop them up and re-weld a bunch of stuff lmao... Sell the flowtechs to some unsuspecting soul and buy some BBK, SLP, Kooks, etc....

I dont mind my Flowtechs, but they were very easy to install correctly because the motor was out of the car. I put plenty of RTV on, but the slip joint rusted together anyway so it doesnt leak at all haha

Are solid motor mounts really a bad decision for a daily driver? numerous people say they are bad on the car and make horrible annoying noises. But not one person i have seen yet with solid motor mounts complain??

I have had them on previous cars. just makes it very uncomfortable after awhile and you start to hear all the cracks and squeeks in the car. I didnt like the whole car vibrating. If I raced it all the time it would have been alright, but not in a DD
