so im planning for a 4.10 install in the future (near future i hope) and decided to get some friction modifier while im waiting for the gears and install date. i called around to the local dealerships, and none of them are Ford Motorsport Dealers. i decided to go down to the parts center and ask them in person and ended up buying a bottle of 4oz Motorcraft friction modifier for $4 while i was there. its not the bottle ive seen on the interweb, (clear one w.FMS logo and dark blue fluid) instead its white with a motorcraft label. the dealer told me its XL-3 friction modifier and they use it on all their 8.8 rear axle vehicles. not that i dont trust the dealer, i just dont trust the 80 year old man that hasnt walked out from behind the parts dept. counter in 60 years.

so, will this chit work? it was only $4 so im not too worried if it doesnt.

Friction modifier is friction modifier...

thanks guys. i saw it was like $15.00/bottle on-line somewhere, thought that was pretty high for 4oz of fluid. guess i just saved about $10.00 to put in my piggy bank towards the $90.00 chin spoiler.
