FOG LIGHTS

hey, I know what your talking about, but I saw it on another forum. (cant remember the one)

I did a similar thing and eventually scrapped it because I could not get close enough to a factory look for my taste.

Its more tricky than it looks. You cant find fogs that fit well in the lower grille. You can go with 1.5" fogs with trim, that are barely noticeable, or 3" fogs without trim, but cant be set within the grille unless you grind a lot of the lower grille away. I originally put in a set of 1.5" fogs seen here:



Those looked pretty good. I had found some black plastic pipe at home depot that fit perfectly in the lower grill as a trim piece, and it all looked like it came from the factory that way. However, they were generally useless because I could not aim the beam --it was aimed too low (as you can see in the pic). They were also sort of small and not too noticeable during the daytime --didn't really change the look of the car much.

So.... I decided to upgrade to 3" fogs that I bought at my local car parts place. Those were too big for the grill, so I had to grind out larger holes, it became a whole big monstrosity seen here:



These were better in that I could aim them, and they did change the look of the car, but at the end of the day they looked like fog lights from pep boys. I went back to the original grille and decided that car designers probably do know better than me when it comes to placement of fog lights.
