hey everyone, as you can see im brand new to this forum so i thought i would start out by posting a little about myself and my build. Im 20 years old and currently working at a mustang shop in broomfield, colorado. I went to lincoln tech for a year and a half to get some education about working on cars. ive got a 2001 mustang gt that i have been in the process of building for about a year now, my build isnt your average build, instead of building a sweet engine first, ill be doing that as the final step in this build. As for the car, ive had it since it was brand new in 2001 and its my first car. I started off with just your average bolt ons and exhaust but quickly realized that wasnt going to cut it in the performance area for my car. About a year ago, i started planning on building the suspension and i decided to go with a full maximum motorsports suspension system, which is all installed on the car now. I wanted my car to be unique and something that would stick out in the crowd. Currently besides the suspension, i have about every bolt on possible, kooks long tubes w/ catless x pipe and slp lm1 but im looking to get a bassani catback, comp xe262ah cams, mgw short throw, urethane trans mount, MM 6 point roll bar, spec stage 2 clutch, torsen t2r rear differential, 3.73's, kirkey racing seats, cobra brake upgrade on all 4 wheels, fr500 wheels, Nt01 tires all around (275's front 315's rear). As of this weekend, im pretty sure i have a burnt exhaust valve and a blown header gasket but its almost winter so the car will be in storage and ready for a heart transplant. I have an MMR Mod 900 shortblock on the way, and im saving for a top end kit from CMS, kenne bell 2.6H, fuel system, and a transmission. Let me know what you think of the pics and thanks for checking out my build!

That's definitely a nice car. How do you like that Kirkey seat? I've been debating on getting one just for the track.

Yep, straight pipes will burn a valve, might wanna consider some cat-converts.

That suspension is sick dude, carving corners much?!?!

Thanks everyone!
I love the way the suspension feels, its very stiff and very predictable, the only thing i need is higher rate springs for my front coilovers and a stiffer front sway bar
As for the racing seats, i love my kirkey seats, very low, very supportive but very stiff, i wouldnt recommend them for a street car.
Also unless you have a rollcage/bar in your car, the seat wont be strong enough with just a base bracket (I had to build custom brackets and weld them to my roll bar)
Im pretty bummed that i dont get to drive it until the engine is done but its for the better

Car has a nice stance to it and I bet it feels great with the MM parts. It's amazing how much suspension will improve a ride and the general feel of the car.

What type of numbers are you looking to achieve?

Im looking for about 550-600 at the wheels, the car is pretty much a dedicated autocross and road race car and as soon as i get the engine/trans in i will be looking into getting signed up for SCCA autocross and NASA HPDE out at highplains raceway in colorado

Your car....

I would definitely invest in the suspension first in my build if I were to do it...

Found this the other day, its the Autox from the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup this summer, see if you can spot my car! It was definently the loudest car at the roundup, but it will be a lot quieter soon.

RMMR Autocross 2011 #18 - YouTube

Also got some news on the stang, figured out that what i thought was an exhaust leak was actually the #5 spark plug being blown out, so ill be fixing it monday after work and hopefully the car will be driveable. Got my boost and AFR gauges all wired in and i decided to start pulling appart my dash to drop some weight. Im going to remove the a/c system, blower motor and all of the ducting, and i may remove my center console and make a custom shifter boot and e brake boot.

Thanks! Yep ill be 21 in march. I've always wanted a car to be proud of and something unique so about a year ago that I was going to make it happen. The tires are nitto nt01's., 275's up front and 315's in the rear. I've got a bit of a rubbing in the rear ever since I installed the rear suspension, so ill probably need a small wheel spacer
