Roush Food for thought...Saleen and Roush owners alike

When you purchase a saleen or roush mustang, do you get your stock parts back as well?

Reason I ask is, if you look at the stick price..it shows a regular mustang GT. Okay..so your paying full price for a mustang gt..and then your paying for all the extras. So technically, you own the stock bumpers, rims, tires, seats, intakes, exhaust, etc..because you paid full price for the standard GT. I wonder if you can ask for those parts you paid for or get a reimburstment..not some crappy one...go to the parts the department and price the parts out and get that in return. The kicker is that you can contact saleen or roush and buy stock parts...so they are selling the stock parts that you the customer already paid for.

Your thoughts?

That's a good point. At these prices you should get all of the Ford parts as well.

On the older cars i'd say why bother, but now that 05's+ are 50 grand, i kinda think you should get the parts back too.
But, really they got you by the balls. If you (as in yourself) convert a car, even if they do it, it's not considered real, and your resale value is hurt.
I'd assume saleen still sells the parts off, i think way back in the foxbody days the take off parts were even in the catalog

Actually I never thought about getting the stock take off parts back before.

They are worth next to nothing anyway. I think back in late 2005 Saleen would sell those bullitt stock mustang wheels and tires for $200 bucks.

Having to figure out a way to haull all of that around and store it sounds like more of a pain in the a** to me anyway.

Saleen is considered a manufacturer so you are buy a complete, turn key, warranty car. Not a tuner set up and a box pf parts.

I guess you are right marcus, and the point can be made that if you can afford a 50k mustang, what do you need $500 in used take off crap that you have to sell.
