If your rear is coming apart definitely get the rear brakes. The M-2300-M kit is only $175 and you can use your GT rear calipers with some widening of the u-bracket channel where the rotor passes.

No need to change the MC on the 96+ cars.

You'll want to do the rears after you see your car from the side with HUGE 13" front brakes and puny 10.51" rear brakes. Looks a little funny.

As for the spare issue. I had the factory bullitts with OEM size tires so i could rotate, so i would do the spare to the rear and put a rear wheel up front. Never had to do it thankfully. I do waaaay too much long distance driving to run without a spare. Sometimes i would carry another 17x8 mustang wheel when i was going far from home. AAA blows. I can change a tire in 10 mins...why wait 2 hours for them to do it for me?

One thing I will say that sucks about going with the Cobra rear brake set up is that you're forced to go with 16", or aftermarket 15" wheels out back for trips to the track. No more picking up a set of 15" V6 wheels at the wreckers, throwing a set of Drag Radials on them and going racing.

Not that there aren't factory 16" wheels available, but if you're all set up with 15" wheels and tires now, its an additional cost you may want to consider when upgrading the rear brakes.

I am guessing display at car shows. Why waste that money when a $10 jackstand will do the same thing. Unless it needs to look good.

On corral.net, a few of us are having a discussion on 91-92 Mark 7 rear disk brakes.

Why?

Because they are 10.53" in dia and vented. In comparison, the stock GT rotor is 10.51" and solid. They also use the 45mm varga caliper like the '93 Cobra. The offset seems similar to the SN95.

Basically, the talk is swapping on the '93 cobra 45mm caliper in addition to the 91-92 mark 7 rotor and having a compact vented rotor that will clear 15" rims, but also offer increased clamping force with the 45mm caliper (vs the 38mm sn95 caliper).

Of course, nobody knows if it will work yet, but the theory sounds good.

Quick question, I just had my Mach 1 brakes put on about a month ago, and should I get a flat, where do I place the jack in the front and rear?

Hydraulic jack? Or the OEM jack in the trunk??

Hydraulic jack i put under the A-arm up front and on the axle in the rear. The OEM jack usuallly goes on a jack point along the pinch weld at the side of the car. It shows you in the manual

If you do the upgrade you can get 13in drilled and slotted rotors from NAPA for @$70. They are the Napa brand are they work well.

Which is where exactly? I don't have the manual for my car (I must have lost it in my parents move), and BTW does the OEM fit underneath the a lowered car? I've never had to change a flat on my car (knock on wood) and don't plan on it.

Dealer wont have the to my knowledge, PBR is an Australian company. They sold them to ford with the pads is my guess.
