What shifter should I get. My cars a dd, about 260rwhp. Ill run it hard a few times a week, but only race it hard once a week at most.
Will be buyin the shifter off ebay.

Its just a shifter. I have had NO issues with any, from stock, to Hurst, to Pro5.0. Even my stock shifter with a Pro5.0 handle in my teal car shifts every gear great! Dont stress over the little things!

I just want to get something tough. I hear the ripper is bullet proof, and the tri-ax has been broken a few times.

I vited MGW. This one I have heard is awesome. I don't think you can get it on ebay right now. For the street I would say get the longer handle which is still plenty short.

the difference between driving with the stock shifter and then my pro5.0 was pretty damn significant!

I have a pro 5.0. Good for precise quick shifts, but a little short for my liking on a daily driven car. Lot of guys go with the pro 5.0 base and the tri-ax handle.

I would stay away from Hurst. Although any shifter is an improvement over stock including the Hurst, it is typically reguarded as the lesser of aftermarket shifters. If you want quick precise shifts, stick to the Pro-5.0, Steeda or MGW. If you get the MGW I suggest the short handle. I am 6ft and have the seat all the way back and it seem to fit me just fine for every day driving. Just my opinion. You really can't go wrong with the long one either.

Hurst Competition Plus shifters that i've seen have chrome handles and come with a small boot so you see the actual shifter handle

The shifter he has there looks like the Hurst Billet/Plus shifter. But the Billet/Plus has a brass looking base, not that aluminum looking base. So i'd definately email that seller and see whats up.

yea the billet plus is pretty cheap looking. although that competition plus looks really nice. Im gonna look more into that.
sicarius, did you mean the competition plus or the billet?

i have got a UPR BLU Thunder shifter, seems pretty nice, has a ball detent to help not miss 3rd and it was a killer deal. i think i got it for 99 bucks new from upr

I really like my Tri-ax. It has good height adjustability, the handle slants towards the driver and it practicly throws itself into third gear.

I emailed him. He said that the billet plus has the goldish base, and that the one pictured is a competition plus. The one in the pic looks the same as the one on the box, minus the chrome handle. I think im gonna go for it.

My friend has the Hurst Billit one and I think it its worlds better than the stock one. Just in general, the Hurst and the B&M aren't as popular the Pro-50, Steeda, and MGW. They don't have as short of a throw as the others which is usually the whole point of getting a short throw. A shifter really comes down to how it works for you. I just went out on a limb and got lucky with the MGW.

I didnt realize the throw wasnt as short on those. I dont want to get a 5.0, so I guess im down to the triax and mgw, lets here some more bout these..........
