For the Guys who have removed their Front Sway Bars!

I don't have any problems with the front swaybar removed. It seems to even up the suspension more, so the back end doesn't tend to kick out as much. Just go ahead and try it, if you don't like it, it's not like it is hard to reinstall or anything.

I don't know if this is an option for you, but I've heard removing the fog light bracket is another 25-30 pounds.

Really, thought it was heavier... but it still weight off of the front end

another here with no front swaybar. No problems with handling at all and I even take corners fast sometimes with no problem.

i took mine off, and have lakewood 70/30s and the body roll is noticeable but not too big of a deal. I drive it every day and have no problems.

i remove the end links for track day.
it's a pain in the butt.
decided to try no sway bar on the street... got less than block came home and hooked it back up.
car handled like a sponge, and was unresopnsive. my lifted jeep cherokee was more 'sporty'.
doesn't matter with et streets and et fronts bolted up as your handeling/responsiveness is shot anyways, but with radials it was a joke... not for me, i like to drive my car not jello bowl it around town.

can it be done, sure, without a doubt...

ive had mine off for a couple years now, no real problems other than the body roll can get annoying/emberrassing. basically the car handles like an older Lincoln Town Car, no joke. the rear end is MUCH tougher to swing out too.

What I have done so far to get my Tbird ito a more competive weight.

Installed carb engine with aluminum heads. Removed air pump, A/C complete, Front sway bar, complete computer system and harness, fog lights, charcoal filter system, stock steel fuel lines,(replaced with alunimum) stock 22 gal gas tank and pump, (installed 16 gal cell in trunk) complete boat anchor exhaust, heater and all hoses and under dash air distribution box, all carpet padding, all sound deading stuff from floor and fire wall, radio, heat/ac controls, all speakers, the automatic seat belt system and its computer, the inside of the in dash glove box, remote gas door and trunk stuff, front and rear impact bumpers,remote mirror motors, passenger door power window motor, door impact beam, all seats (2 new polly ones going in) powerr antenna, W/S/W pump, sun visors, inner fender liners.

To be done: Lexan windows, fiberglass cowl hood to clear carb, fiberglass trunk lid. Then it is time to take it to the scales.....

Future, when parts are released: New tube K member and coil overs, fiberglass doors.

mines out, and its an almost daily driver(unless its raining or i have a headache) and i dont have any problems at all
