Today I change my Idler pulleys from autozone but I still have whistle so I am thinking to changing my Belt Tensioner. Idler pulley was bad cause I can hear bearing when I spin it free but belt tensioner is not as bad but makes little noise but not whistle . It's been 6 months with this whistle and I am getting sick of it.

Is there any torque specs on idler pulley bolt ? I just use locktite and nice tighten it tight

I got a similar one from NAPA it polishes up real nice in about an hour.

Started with 320 wet/dry, then 600, then 1200, and 2000. Then hit it with some Mothers metal polis it took about an hour after work one day. The idler pulley is actually a polished billet item from eBay.

It that the same tensioner as on the 96-98? I'd assume so. I have the same problem but it's more like a squeak that goes on and off as it rotates- but goes away after it get warm like 15 mins of driving

mine does the same thing when i start it up in the morning and slowly goes away as the car warms up, i'm thinking it's the idler pully
