They handle things great but they can be bit of hit or miss. I am in a big block Chevy group for them and I see a lot of mixed reviews. I was looking at possibly a 540 for my 66 belairDepends on how much $$ you wanna spend. Max effort deal no doubt Fordstrokers or ZSR. Street car, I'm doing a Blueprint 347 for half the price.
I have the correct hood on my new project for a BB, but they are way too expensive... I did see some guy talk about using a 454 instead of a more expensive 396 or 427.. I don't think Blueprint zero balances their rotating assemblies. Or sell short blocks. They also quote a 6500 RPM upper RPM limit on their stuff. I'd like to make peak power above that point.

What is the cost these days, for a Dart Sportsman (or equivalent) and the machine work necessary to drop in your desired rotating assembly...

What would it cost to get the forged crankshaft in this engine, zero balanced?
It's been a while since I've had to build an engine. I can only imagine what it costs now for the [entire] process.
