Ford Racing cylinder heads

While I am waiting for the new intakes by FAST, I was looking at possibly getting a set of cylinder heads by Ford Racing. They claim their heads can add up to 50 hp. If that's true then the 40 hp claimed by Fast's intake, 50 hp from FRPP heads and C&L race CAI would definately help me in my goal in getting over 400 hp without a S/C.

Does anybody have Ford Racing heads and is it worth the cost?

i hope you dont think that the intake will add 40 hp, and the heads will add another 50 on top of that. advertised power gains cant be added up and then assume thats the total power gained in real life. mods compliment each other, so when you have a good combination, you are maximizing your power potential. many times advertisments show the max gain IF the engine was held back becasue of this one modification.

i dont have first hand experience, but look into other P/P heads as well. i think the FRPP heads are ported more conservatively that the other offerings that are currently on the market.

livernois stage 3 heads are a much better buy.

+ 1,000. FRPP heads suck. Livernois or Fox Lake are better options. I think Sutton is working on developing some ported heads as well. The FRPP stuff is just too conservative and too high priced.

Also, avoid ricer math. An intake is NOT gonna give our cars 40 hp. And you can't just add up hp claims like that... just as bigcat said. :nice:

Yes they do:

Not even 20 hp.

Not to argue the point too hard, but it sure looks like the cams are the limiting factor in this comparison. FRPP heads and no cams picked up 13HP, then the cams added another 30HP with the same FRPP heads which says to me that the FRPP heads do flow pretty well. Too bad they don't have a stock head and cams dyno print out to see how that compares to the baseline bolt-on motor and the FRPP w/cams motor.

That was my car that Sutton did the heads on. Its in the May 07 5.0 Mustang magazine with a tech write up. The Comp Cams pick up almost the exact same power, maybe a few less, but close on stock heads. I would recommend a different company's heads. Sutton is working on a set that is taking sometime but when they come out should be very good.
