I'm looking for a complete catback exhaust right now, and am having alot of trouble deciding... In the Latemodel Resto catologue they have several systems including the Ford Racing 5.0 LX Catback system.. 2.5" with 3" polished tips, and is actually one of the cheaper system available.

Has anyone used this and is it good sound / fit / performance ??

Thanks

That was the first exhaust system I had on my 89 LX like 5 years ago, and I didn't like it for a couple of reasons. It is basically a take off from a 99-04 GT, and on an LX foxbody, you see the ugly welds where the tips are welded to the pipe, and it is also really quiet...even without cats.

Ok this is good to know

Right now I think I am kinda leaning towards the MAC catback system... anyone have any input on it ?

I have a Mac off road x-pipe, and catback on my 86 and it sounds pretty good, and the tail pipes look good (my favorite feature, and why I bought it) because the chrome tips attach behind the rear tires so you can't see them. It doesn't sound nearly as cool as the Bassani exhaust on my 89 (no tail pipes, and WAY louder though), but I'm happy with the Mac exhaust overall. Just stay away from their headers!

Great, sounds like Mac system is the one for me.
